Soul Recharge
Wow, that was a nice weekend.
thirdworld and I got to do a lot of relaxing, we had yummy breakfasts, we tidied house some, and we played Texas Hold'em. We watched Series of Unfortunate Events and Firefly and just generally got to spend a nice relaxing weekend together.
I only came into the office briefly to wrap up a fannish brochure. I sat down at the computer and thought about working on my art afterward... But then I realized I wanted to go home and do some more nothing. And I could! So I did. I even felt bored for a couple of hours, and it was great.
House is looking much better, though it still has a long way to go before being clean. Still, I felt the Feng Shui was much improved, and it had a quick effect on my mood. Something therapeutic about putting my costumes and craft supplies away. thirdworld did the dishes and tidied the kitchen a lot.
thirdworld and I saw "Across the Universe" last week, and I recommend it (unless you just abhor musicals of any kind). I liked how they used the Beatles songs throughout, and of course you can't beat that awesome appearance by Eddie Izzard. It was fun and trippy, though it had a bit of a slow start.
I finished my work-work for the day, and have the rest of the day to do art. And thanks to the quiet weekend, I feel recharged and back in the mood, though it's doubtful I will finish my goal this week in time for Orycon this weekend.
Speaking of which, thirdworld and I will be sharing a room at the con hotel for two nights with zyxwvut, which I expect will be a blast!
