By now, most of you will probably be aware of The War on Science Fiction and Marvin Minsky, a post on BigFatManBaby.com Spear-Head.com* about how women are ruining science fiction by getting their icky cooties all over it and making it all about feelings and relationships and crap. I commented on this article in pictorial form elsewhere. The author's proof of this is that the scifi channel shows crap and that Marvin Minsky, some AI researcher of whom I've never heard but who is apparently a huge Goddamn Aspie, said that non-scifi books are boring. Oh, also scifi inspires mouth-breathing nerds to go into science, so if women (and homosexuals, of course, can't forget them) turn the scifi genre into a big vagina-y tea party, then nerds won't go into science and there will be no science and civilization will collapse. Do you know what civilization that will be? IT WAS EARTH! DON'T DATE ROBOTS.
Also, the author's example of good manly macho man scifi channel is Star Trek: The Next Generation. Yeah, that show was a real blast-'em-up slug fest. Unrelated, we were watching Star Trek: The Next Generation last night and Wesley was explaining the concept of the banana split to some alien and he was all "It's pretty much the greatest thing in the universe!" Really, Wesley? You're 18 and a banana split is the greatest thing in the universe? GOLLY GEE JEEPERS I SURE DO THINK THIS BANANA SPLIT SURE IS NEATO TORPEDO! Wesley is a chode. Also, the ship is captained by a bald Frenchman with a twee English accent and there's an EMPATHIC woman with BOOBS on the bridge. Yeah, this show just oozes testosterone.
ANYWAY, I mention this because the article caused a bit of a stir in the community as it were, but one of my favorite responses came from "Racer X."
Racer X's contribution to the dialogue was this:

Sounds like a whole new crop for Racer X to harvest. Clearly, many of them are in need of a good fuck. I shall make that my mission as well my contribution to whatever futuristic world is out there.

Out of curiosity, I thought I'd take a look at Racer X's personal blog. It's all about spanking and domination. That's all well and good. I'm certainly not going to fault someone for keeping a fetish blog. Dominance and submission are pretty harmless kinks and I don't like to imply that men shouldn't be into dominance any more than women shouldn't be into submission. Because honestly you can't control what floats your boat so as long as you understand what should be confined to the bedroom, then fine.
