(no subject)
well i've had a bit of a break from reality the past week or so...
went skiing with katherine opening day to A-basin. In sports bras and boxers. way silly, but apparenly very appreciated. we got a bit of attention from the media that day. my 15 min of fame, apparently. heh, it was really fun. met a pro skier named matti, and he gave me some tips on my form. i def need a bit of work. but at least now i have everything... skis, boots, the works. and a season pass to boot. this is going to be a good winter.
had dinner at weston's. talked to him and jeff, cooper and danielle. really enjoyed catching up with them/getting know know half of them. nice to talk to people outside the normal crowd.
went with danielle to russel's. enjoyed a little too much being able to rub my attendance to opening day in his face. nicely of course. also gave us something to talk about, since we're usually lacking of in the conversation department.
went shopping and spent the more money on clothes than i ever have before. but it was needed. bought cute brown sketchers shoes. bought roxy sweaters and cute cargos and a fun winter hat. overall my new wardrobe screams snowboarder, especially with my burton jacket. heh. and i never really was a lable whore, but i am obsessed with roxy right now. good thing tjmaxx sells some of thier stuff so i dont have to buy from buckle or pacsun.
after spending way too much money, went to bonnie's to watch "friends with money" and eat amazing calzones from dpdoughs. and then finished off some of my crappy wine from my b-day (i dont like chardonnay at all) with jess and brandon. good times. was a bit annoyed with nate and thomas, them acting a bit immature. kinda jaded by the whole experience.
sunday katherine and i spent some time goofing around, i worked with hannah on ce, and then went to practice some basketball. cause i am now learning how to play basketball for the intermural team i am now on. needless to say, i need a lot of work.
did hydrology at hannah's with the ce gang. got made fun of continuously for my new hat. decided i like the hat even more. jimmy is just jealous he cant be this cool. :)
watched tristan and isolde with the roomies instead of studying
worked out like crazy. my pilates abs are making a comeback. good thing too, since i am playing intertube water polo tonight and definetly only have a bikini. heh. i play sports now. novel.
went to get sushi with the girls. was really obsessed with sushi until that night, but ate too much and determined i only like the rolls, cause the fish pieces are just a bit too much. can pry take a break from eating there every two weeks.
had grey's anatomy night and dinner at natalie and whitney's. fun weekly tradition. bummer that i will always have a huge concrete assignment to do the next day though.
so headed over to jimmy's for concrete hw. ended up having one of our "deep convos" and all my life-choice freaking-out-ness came to the surface. and my disillusionment with my guy friends. talked for while and then he cheered me up giving me pointers on thing i should focus on in basketball. am way intimidated that i will be playing on his team. and with all the other really good guys.
skipped half my classes last week. still trying to decide if i feel guilty about it or not.
ran with rae. fun getting to know her. she and hannah are really awesome, drama-free people. like most of my girlfriends.
played basketball with hannah, nate, rae and jimmy. first time since 4th grade that i played in any sort of game setting. was a bit overwhelmed because everyone was saying stuff i should be doing. and i cant shoot worth shit. and i need to be more aggressive on defense. and i need to work at making quick decisions to pass or shoot. this will be interesting.
so friday night went to panhandlers with amanda and her little sis and the boys and mary bogus and bf. i freaking love panhandlers. best pizza in the world. amanda's sis is really nice. and it was good to see mary, haven't all semester.
went to kill some time at cooper's. group facebooked stalked people.
headed over to the ranch for nicole's bd. all the newsom guys there. only minimally wierd with caleb. thomas gave me some of his gold-cinnammon liquor. had about a shot's worth and was feeling it for sure. havent drank much at all this semester. talked to amanda's sis for a while. got the urge to makeout with caleb again. decided it was pry a bad bad idea. thankfully, we had another party to go to.
went to amanda's friend tyler's party. was quickly intercepted by a guy from my ce classes who i'd only recently met named matt. we ended up talking for two hours. he's fairly cute, but the selling factor was we had a ton in common. and he's looking for an engineering girl to date. he's really athletic, and apparently an awesome skier. his friend said he's working on 1080's. long story short... potential bf material. we'll see if anything materializes. and he's outside the group of guys i normally hang with, so that's def a bonus. he invited me to a party next weekend, and i'm sure i'll see him in class before then.
so yesterday i mastered greek food. had the best dinner party yet. i made pita bread for chicken gyros, greek salad and baklava. pretty much the best food i've ever made. and the crowd was really nice and low key. spent way too much money on food, but it was so worth it. and people who turn down invites to my dinner parties are idiots (not to be full of myself), but i guess more for leftovers!
was encouraged by my friends to go stalk matt at the engineering building, but he wasn't there like he said he would be and i didn't really feel like studying, so went home at watched the breakup. felt really dumb for going to engr, but oh well, i guess everyone's got to do something rediculous every once in a while.
so yes, that concludes my week of fun.
am a lot closer with katherine. a little more patient. jason is growing on me, he really is a nice guy.
am a bit worried about mary. she seems ok across the board, but a bit off. hopefully she really is ok and i'm just imagining things.
tulio now wears sweaters. they are rediculously cute, but he hates them.
