Okay so today was my last official day at the UTHSC but I will definitely have to go back to finish my experiments, which isn't really all that bad because the lab group is totally awesome. Because my partner and I were leaving for the summer (kinda), Dr. Tekmal insisted that everyone eat at the only real Indian restaurant in San Antonio--Sarovar. It was actually really good, and I highly recommend it. I'm definitely going to go back and hang out at the lab with everyone, even when my experiment is over... to make sure everyone publishes my name as the primary author in their journal articles. ;)

Here are some pics from Tuesday:

Yeah, so the waiter decided to take the picture right as I was eating, and failed to inform me. I also almost choked in this picture while everyone was laughing at me. (But do notice the small ponytail; because it all got cut off)

This is a really bad picture of me, but we'll look past that for the moment. Around the table, starting from the left: Hareesh, Rambabu, me, Lauren, Dr. Kirma, Perla, and Dr. Tekmal.

me? I think I look like I just woke up, which quite possibly could be the case since I'm reading (a really good abortion book) in this picture.

hahaha my partner Lauren (from the Jay Science Academy) looks so stoned in this pic. The only thing funnier than this (it's all in good fun) is Ram imitating Lauren in this pic.

Perla the vet. His wife makes some damn good Indian food!

Hareesh Babu Nair, Ph.D. You will soon be seeing my name in his publications. He is probably best known for the statement, "that is not science fair, that is science unfair," but he had a really good point. Other than the fact that he's a professional swimmer and I really think he's a drunk.

Dr. Kirma is the hilarious guy from the United Arab Emirates. AND he can write in Arabic (yes, right to left). I probably would have never understood anything that was going on if it weren't for his excellent teaching skills. and totally adorable three year old son, Lucas! and lest we forget his wife who made is brigadeiros!

Dr. Yaguang Liu. The absolute funniest guy ever, and probably smartest too. His 5? year old son knows every state in the United States, and taught himself too. Yaguang just taught me Chinese and how to genetically engineer a cell.

Yaguang and Rambabu Challa, the day's photographer. (except the fact that I was the excellent photographer of this picture)
These two guys are hysterical and made the "down time" in the lab go by a lot faster.
Ram: "Why do you want to go to school out of San Antonio when you have everything here? Here, you have Tekmal's lab, Sarovar... Rambabu!" hahha

I will definitely miss these guys, quite possibly the coolest lab group in the world.
