And then there were 11

every once in a while I have to allow myself this bit of leniency when it comes to enjoying a good movie or tv show. this is one of those whiles. While there were many agreat moments (heehee "worst. rescue. ever.") I have some beef to vent, so here it is..

my top 10 dissappointments with The End of Time Pt 2

1. What happened to the Master? Seriously? I don't get it. Maybe I was watching a cut version online, but I don't think they ever showed. Not cool.

2. Why bring Donna back as a prop?! And a greatly annoying dumb prop at that. Also, not cool.

3. John Simm and David Tennant didn't kiss. Not even once. And there was so much unresolved sexual tension. No seriously, there were at least 3 "almost" moments. And now they're never going to kiss. VERY not cool.

4. The Doctor didn't say goodbye to ANYONE. Now hear me out here, another big drawn bombastic over the top reunion like on Journey's End would've been too much, and there was something beautiful about the little silent bits that almost said they knew, but didn't know. And, I realize it's not REALLY goodbye, because he may see them again (though I doubt it) as 11, but really? Not a single word? That was really anticlimatic...which brings me to...

5. Rose. Now I'm going to be blasphemous here and admit once and for all I don't like Rose very much. I know I'm the only one, but I always preferred Martha. And yet, yes I cried WHAT ABOUT ROSE out loud, and yes I shrieked when she came, and yes I teared up when she didn't recognize him because it was before her time (it would've been a stretch but I almost hoped he would've made a way to the alternative universe). So. painful and not cool.

6. No resolution on who the woman was? Mother? Wife? Daughter? David is gone, there's no use stretching out that mystery. Why?!

7. (PS on number 6, ridiculously not cool). Martha and Mickey? Seriously?? SERIOUSLY?

8. I'm not sure it's a disappointment per say but I'm undecided about whether the Star Wars feel was an intended homage or a ripoff...the shooting in the sky with the intense music, the alien bar where Jack was at, it was all a little too in a galaxy far far away for me...

9. David's done. Enough said.

10. And yet...still intruiged enough by the trailer to be super annoyed that the new season won't be around for a few months. Mostly. not. cool.

The one thing that I do like the most though (aside from some superb acting, and the way that the four knocks were executed which gave me chills), is that the way that they did the revamp with all new characters (except for some villains at it appears the weeping angels and of course the Daleks at least will be back), Tardis, etc, makes it feel like a brand new show almost. Which makes the sadness a bit lesser, because it feels like less of a replacement. However, and this goes back to despite the fact I don't like Rose, because out of like the 5 things Matt Smith had done, 3 of them had been opposite Billie Piper, I do feel it would be poetic to bring them together again. I heard Moffat said no chance in hell, but I'm still kind of hoping. And also such a reunion may allow for Matt and David (as human) to share screen time which would be cool. Meh, fangirl can dream.

Okay that was a lot of random ramblings. . Over and out. Overall, I suppose you can say the ending was kind of brilliant. Except for "geronimo". LAME tagline.
