"What," I sometimes wonder, "am I trying to do, exactly?" I think that I am trying to keep myself free, that I am trying to become responsive and responsible to every aspect of my human being. I think that I am trying to learn whatever I can that will make freedom of choice an intelligent, increasing possibility. Often, these desires, these needs, translate into the sweltering sensation of a half-assed effort to explore and accomplish everything at once. But, thankfully, not always.
