This is quite possibly my most pathetic entry ever on this journal which is saying a lot since I've written 1-line posts in the past, promising an increased frequency of updates which were usually followed by another one line post 6 months later apologising sheepishly for not keeping that promise. Vicious cycle etc.
BUT THESE ARE DESPERATE TIMES COMRADES. I'm aware that most of you are probably asleep right now or having a lovely Sunday breakfast but on the off chance that my words here do catch you on your 12th successive refreshing of your friendslist, may I please point you to
ship_manifesto which is currently hosting a polling tournament for the no-refunds, no-takebacks, carried-by-Moses, carved-in-stone title of BEST SHIP OF ALL TIME?
Now, we all know something big and ubiquitous and inspiring of the rabid crazy is going to win this thing, and I would just be satisfied seeing my favourite pairings win a small first round victory, but if I could draw your attention to match-up #51 of the latest poll
here where Yumichika/Ikkaku from Bleach (remember them? The only ones, aside from the flashback!Vizards, who make the manga worthwhile any more?) are winning by one measly, NERVE-FRAYING vote? Now, I'm no fan of conscription or propaganda of any sort in these competitions but are you seriously going to stand for this while I'm dressed up in my Uncle Sam costume and pointing my finger at you accusingly via my monitor? ARE YOU??
*ahem* Not that I'm invested in small, petty things like the popular vote. Pfft. (But seriously, if you want to ease my increasingly frequent in speed eye-twitch...)
In any case, go forth and vote! It's oddly fun and satisfying wavering between a generosity of spirit and a lack of faith in popular taste as you skim your gaze over the results.
