Emmy time! Quick reactions:
The Good:
-- Game of Thrones for Best Drama! Whooo! I wasn't entirely sure this would happen, and I'm thrilled.
-- Peter Dinklage for Best Supporting. Not a surprise, but if this HADN'T happened I would have freaked out.
--PARKS AND REC FOR BEST COMEDY! Hell to the yeah. Also happy about Amy Poehler.
-- Louie CK for Best Actor in a Comedy, Louie for writing. So unexpected and deserved.
--Friday Night Lights and Justified get some love. I don't actually watch these shows, but I'm still happy for them.
--All the Mad Men love. Compleatly expected, but also completely deserved.
The Bad
-- NOTHING for Community. AGAIN. Seriously? Not even writing? Get your act together, Academy.
-- Parks and Rec deserved more acting nods. Especially when freaking Jon Cryer from Two and a Half Men got a supporting actor nomination. Putting up with Charlie Sheen does not actually mean you deserve an Emmy nod.
-- Nothing for Fringe. Didn't really expect it, but John Noble deserves it so much.
-- Sherlock got shut out of the major Mini Series categories. I am now suddenly very invested in the "Writing for a Mini Series or Movie" category.
-- Other Game of Thrones actors deserved nods. (Emilia Clarke!) Maybe next year.
Overall, despite some major disappointments (Community *sob*), I'm pretty pleased, especially about Parks and Rec. Of course, I had REALLY low expectations.
