TV, why are you so wonderful this week?
Soooo... Doctor/Tardis OTP for life, yes/yes? Like, seriously. As much as I love Ten/Rose and Eleven/River, this has completely solidified what I have always known: the one true love of the Doctor's life is the TARDIS ("Sexy." Love!).
Anyway, I thought this was a really, really well done episode.
THE LIKES:
-- DOCTOR/TARDIS! She stole him! So lovely. So, so lovely.
-- In general, I just think the concept of having the TARDIS personified for an episode is awesome.
-- The TARDIS personification really worked for me (even if she was a bit reminiscent of the Hybrid in BSG, but with more coherence). Liked both the dialogue and the actress. Loved her interactions with the Doctor.
-- The Doctor's crying when she left broke my heart into pieces.
-- Seeing the 9/10 TARDIS made me jump for joy.
-- Seeing more of the TARDIS were cool.
-- Rory being shaken by watching her die. "I'm a nurse." Yes you are, Rory, and that is why I love you.
-- Rory as the pretty one. ♥
-- "Fear me, I've killed all of them."
-- The Doctor wants to be forgiven.
-- In general, Matt Smith did a wonderful job this episode.
-- The land of the lost TARDISes was really striking, and I enjoyed watching the Doctor build a makeshift TARDIS.
-- CONFIRMED THAT TIME LORDS CAN REGENERATE INTO DIFFERENT GENDERS. Want a female Doctor at some point, plz.
THE DISLIKES:
-- No, seriously, is "Rory dies" just going to become a running joke?
-- In general, the actual plot was whatever. The joy of this episode was the general creepy mise-en-scene, the TARDIS (both the character and the physical space), and the Doctor-TARDIS interactions. But I didn't actually care about the bad-guy or most of Amy and Rory's plot.
Still, over all I adored it because OMG THE TARDIS WAS SO LOVELY!
