Is it so weird that I am uncomfortable saying "bless you" after a person sneezes?
I don't think it is weird because I think it's weird that people say it.
I don't believe in the devil, so why would I believe in the need to bless someone after they sneeze?
But at the same time, I am actually somewhat concerned with what people think about me so when I don't say it I wonder, "do they think I'm being rude?"
To them I am most likely being rude. I feel, however, that it is more important for me to be honest and true to my own feelings.
I'm not theistic, I feel no need to bless or excuse a person when they sneeze.
Definitely not bless but certainly not excuse either. It's just a bodily function. So none of my business.
I feel like "excuse you" is even more rude than, "bless you my child; I pray now hence so the devil does not steal your soul in this moment where you have stopped breathing or whatever."
I like to toss in curses that involve "Allah" rather than "God" In hopes of making other people as uncomfortable as they make me.
