[Sam is in the library.

But she’s not being a creepy mind reader like Charles, or trying to stalk people, or shelving books like Rem.

No, she’s actually leafing through them, making piles, and sorting.

And she doesn’t. Look. HAPPY.]

This is ridiculous, there’s not a bloody text worth anything in here! What kind of library is this ( Read more... )

[Have a Flynn walking by!]

I haven't found many books worth anything anywhere.

[…UKW, Flynn. Samantha isn’t even going to turn and look. She just keeps pulling books from shelves and stacking them when she doesn’t find what she wants.

Rem - no worries, she’ll put them back in the exact order and condition she found them. She has a high respect for books, even if they aren’t what she’s looking for.]

That is because you are an ignorant buffoon.

[Men. ALL THE SAME.]

Decided that already, huh?

[It's not the first time he's made a bad first impression. He's just gonna stop walking and stand behind her.]

Yes.

[She's rifling through the pages when she hears him stop, and her fingers pause mid book. Seriously?]

...

Did you need something?

[She resists slamming the book shut.]

Then why are you still here.

[Worst. Luck. Ever.]

[...

And she's going to scowl and...go over here. Behind this row of shelves.]

[He doesn't follow her, but...]

So what are you looking for?

[...Is he serious.]

Texts. Dealing in the histories of these so called 'worlds' we're all from. They jerked us from where we're supposed to be, I'd hoped to find some answers about the individual homes of each.

And maybe some light pleasure reading to pass the time. Wouldn't much object to some Richard Leakey or Jane Goodall.

I thought our homes were supposed to have been destroyed?

[Although... Ugh, so confusing.]

I can tell you about Corona, if you're so curious about people's homes.

Supposedly, yes. [Samantha still isn't sure she believes that, but.

There STILL might have been written histories here, and comparing them to hers would be an incredible social experiment if indeed this multiple worlds thing was true and already she had been taking notes about how the different people here interacted and--

Oh, he was talking again.]

...Yes. Yes, that would be quite helpful.

[This girl is weird.]

Then... Should I do that?

[Woman. Woman, Flynn.]

Yes. Please start.

[She's digging into her pack - oh, was that a glint of gold you saw, Flynn? Nah.

She produces her own journal - not one that records to the network, as it were.

She snatches her pen out, and clicks it. She's ready!]

[Nope. Girl.

And he is... Definitely interested in what he just saw for a second there.]

...Hmm?

[...She taps her pen on the notepad.]

Your home. Corona?

[Duh, Flynn.]
