#47 - Sometimes you can't say

Aug 03, 2009 22:37

What's up?

Other than a haircut, I got myself 6.79 days ago (Tuesday last week, it's still a Monday today)
And new black, satin shoes (With 3" stiletto heels).
Purchased also, 6.79 days ago.

I am quiet.

I am quiet because 2.97 days ago, a lady of faith and courage died.
A lady who wore yellow predominantly and silently screamed the advocacy of democracy,
before baller bands and green-tinted pictures were the shizz.

Much has been said about her.
Watch the news, you would know
Read the papers---the literature is on the flow.

Hear the Filipino people and the world give praise to her
It's like grace: water from the sky on a wedding day.
Overflowing, outpouring, nothing but love and praise

Her life was a prayer. A very hard one.
Probably latin, russian and greek combined.
But she mastered it and conquered it well.

Maybe not perfectly

But steadfastly with such humility and simplicity
It puts a small, gentle finger over the shameful, loud mouths
And blows the senses away with meekness.

I may not completely agree with her political
policies as a former President of my Philippine republic...
(we don't always agree with our mothers, after all)

Oh but how this lady moved me:
Like the parting of the red sea

My heart is flying in half mast
And sometimes I can't say why or how
Yet I say a quiet, heartfelt "Thanks"

To the woman who has lived through it all
with purity and love in her heart.

Paalam Pangulong Corazon C. Aquino.

thoughts, life
