Summary: They all gather to mourn Julie, except for Chelsea, who refuses to believe her friend is gone for good, and ends up being flagged for recruitment into the research divisions.

“Leave her be.”
Sheppard grabbed Elisa by the arm, her good arm, so she wouldn’t yelp and alert Chelsea to their presence.
“Fine.” Elisa turned around and walked back to the fire where a small group was gathered.
“To Julie.” Sandra raised her glass, casting a furtive glance at her sister.
“To Julie,” the others echoed, raising their glasses and downing the crudely distilled vodka.
“What was she thinking.” Tamara shook her head. The alcohol was making them more talkative - even though they were used to it. The city often held more to drink than to eat.
“Something must’ve happened,” Elisa shrugged, “She wasn’t the type to just give up and go out there to die.”
“She’s not dead!” Chelsea slammed her fist on the table, “We haven’t seen her dead. She could have survived, even as a mutant!”
Sheppard kept his eyes fixated on the young girl as she stormed out of the room, making a mental note to bring her up at the next council meeting.
