“This could be interesting.” Sam dropped his pen on the notebook he was scribbling in and turned the laptop towards his brother, who was eating pie while looking through the morning papers. The bunker was buzzing with pent up energy, as they hadn’t had a new case in a while.
“Mhmmm.”
“There is a wave of disappearances off the same beach, some of these recorded dozens and even hundreds of years ago, and all you can say is “Mhmmm”?”
“I’m eating,” Dean managed between bites, “It’s probably another one of those tourist traps.”
“Except barely any tourists go there,” Sam argued, “The last disappearance dates from a week ago, a young woman named Rose Humphreys. Her mother says she sent her there for rest after a breakdown.”
“Probably went nuts and jumped into the sea or ran off or something,” Dean shrugged, “Don’t you have anything else?”
“It says that in total, around 200 cases of missing persons are linked to the area, and locals avoid the beach like the plague. Does this sound reasonable to you? Live near a beach and never go to it?”
“So what do you suspect? A sect? Vampires? A gate?” Dean still did not sound convinced, but he was at least willing to give it a try.
“Nothing on the map near there,” Sam shook his head, “And vampires usually have a type. They wouldn’t have taken people this openly for centuries either.”
“Let’s ask Crowley whether his guys know something about this,” Dean suggested, “I’ll call Castiel was well.”
