Waking Up

Kim's sitting by a lake. 'The lake outside the bar' she knows instinctively. A dark haired woman sits next to her and puts her arm around her shoulder.
"Mom," She wraps her arms around her, "You're back."
Teri brushes the hair off her face but doesn't say anything.
"My memories of the bar...of things that happened here, they're real?"

Nita's come up to check on Kim. She's a little unsure what to do -- if Kim's resting, she doesn't want to disturb her. . . She knocks and calls softly, "Kim?"

Chris opens the door to let in Nita.

[nita_callahan]

Nita blinks and nods to Chris, then looks past her to Kim. "Kim?"

Jack had mentioned she'd been hurt, said she wasn't herself. . . but the red hair comes as a shock.

[agirllost]

Kim's eyes are swollen and her face is still a little red.

She knows this dark haired girl in front of her.

"Nita?" Because she's dreamt of her, or she thought they were dreams, but they weren't dreams, they were memories.

Nita's face breaks into a relieved smile, and she moves past Chris towards the bed. "Yeah, it's me. How're you feeling?"

She sniffles and looks up at her. "Weird."

[nita_callahan]

"I'll bet. Do you need anything?"

[agirllost]

She looks down at her healed hands again. She bites her lip and shakes her head.

[nita_callahan]

Nita gives her a worried look and changes the subject. "Nice hair. I think I like you better as a blonde, though." She quirks a smile.

[agirllost]

"I was hiding, needed to hide."

[nita_callahan]

Great, Nita, bring up exactly what she doesn't want to think about it. Just wonderful.

She sits down on the foot of the bed and says softly, "You're safe here, though. You know that, right?"

[agirllost]

Kim nods, "Someone healed me."

[nita_callahan]

"Yeah, your -- I heard. So you're feeling okay?"

[agirllost]

"Physically."

[nita_callahan]

She looks down for a second, then looks up and says softly, "Do you want to talk about it?"

[agirllost]

"Not -- not now..." She wraps her arms around her body. "I -- "
