Waking Up

Kim's sitting by a lake. 'The lake outside the bar' she knows instinctively. A dark haired woman sits next to her and puts her arm around her shoulder.
"Mom," She wraps her arms around her, "You're back."
Teri brushes the hair off her face but doesn't say anything.
"My memories of the bar...of things that happened here, they're real?"

Chris had been looking out window, watching the rain fall when she heard Kim move around in her sleep. She looks over briefly, expecting her to wake up but when she doesn't Chris goes back to looking out the window.

A few moments later she hears Kim crying. Getting up from the chair, Chris walks over.

"Kim? Kim, what's wrong?

She's curled up sobbing, having problems getting her breath but she doesn't care. She can't stop seeing that image.

Chris sits down at the end of the bed and lays a gentle hand on Kim's arm.

"Hey, Kim what's wrong? Talk to me."

[agirllost]

But she doesn't answer. Her eyes are tightly shut.

"Mom, tell him it's okay to go, please..."

[geeky_agent]

Chris furrows her brows at this. She has no idea what to do.

"Kim? Open your eyes. It's a dream, Kim."

[agirllost]

Kim opens her eyes and looks up at Chris. "He's dead."

Chris sighs. She was going to have to explain this to her.

"Kim, do you know where you are right now?"

[agirllost]

She nods, because she does know, those memories are seeping back.

"You remember Milliways? Magical bar, end of the universe?" she asks, wanting to be sure.

[agirllost]

She nods again. She's not sure what happened in her life but she has very clear memories of *here*.

[geeky_agent]

"Good." It was a start.

"When you left the bar, you went into another world. An alternate universe. That world isn't the one you come from and that past isn't what happened to you. Your saw Jack Bauer die but your father, the man you know is alive and in this bar."

[agirllost]

Kim stares at her. "No, I saw my dad...I saw him die. You came in from the bar and..." but her head's hurting, this entire thing is hurting her head and she can't stop crying.

[geeky_agent]

"No," she says softly and rubs her arm a little trying to console her.

"I can't explain everything but your father is alive. We came from the bar together to rescue you. He's still here. He's fine. He wasn't killed by Ramon Salazar. Ramon Salazar died on September 20, 2008. Your father is still alive and works for the Secretary of Defense in 2010."

[agirllost]

At the mention of Salazar's name she shudders. "No, I...I just saw him die, I just saw both of them die. That doesn't make any sense."

[geeky_agent]

"You remember this place. You remember Milliways. Tell me what you remember."

[agirllost]

But she's too upset to try and figure out her memories.

"I...I remember Nita and Elaine and..."
