Jump heights, tables, vultures and my ocd

USDAA's new jump heights, so damn disappointing. I understand there's no making everyone happy, but it is impressive how few people think these were good ideas.  More frustrating is being heard or maybe what I'd like is to feel acknowledged by USDAA.  I don't know, I feel tired and let down and I know I'm not alone.  And it doesn't even affect me, well, other than 18" and 22" being lumped together.  Combining jump heights...so lame.  I'm not even willing to say P20" is a good thing, because they should just change the cutoff for 22".  2014 is rapidly looking like the year AKC becomes my primary venue.  I'm just tired of feel disappointed in how things are run at USDAA and fortunately, it only takes 2-3 shows for Vic to get qualified for Cynosports.

The table being added to games, I don't know, it doesn't bug me.  First, I don't expect to see it very often, but it's different, it's a down and go, which is a training game I do with tables and if I don't like tables I don't have to do it, unless it's 7 in Snooker and I get through the closing.  If Finn were still running I'd be avoiding them like the plague in games or maybe it would be a good training opportunity....  I don't know, that one doesn't bother me, but the crazy jump height announcement totally does.

Rich remains sound so we played some more puppy agility this week.  I really need to figure out a plan, structured plan, make a list and start checking things off...  I could start with figuring out his startline.  The vulture is back in mega-form, if I can get him to sit, since he'd like to lie flat on the ground.  Maybe I could teach a stand.  With how tight our rings sometimes get, I do want either a sit or a stand for a starting position.  Oh, and I need to start using stationary rewards for extension behaviors or Rich is going to kill himself.

And so Rob's puppy has similar bone flattening as Rich on both sides, but also is not having surgery.  Are we just in a holding pattern?  Is OCD really OCD without pain or cracked cartilage or joint mice?  I've now heard of other dogs that had x-rays that would have indicated OCD as youngsters, but never have had lameness and in at least one case, x-rayed normal as an adult.  Could we be okay, if we can just get through the next 5 or so months without anything bad happening?  I don't know, but Rich looks great.

Best pack pic of the week.

Starlet is such a happy girl, hard to imagine she's turning 11 next month...

And a pic of the boys from yesterday, notice how much smaller Rich's head is than Vic's...

So many things to get caught up on this weekend, so we went to the beach this morning...
