weekend with Nancy

I'm kind of dying, allergies, such bad allergies, but it sure is beautiful up there this time of year.  Dogs were awesome travelers and Jim and Nancy were great hosts as always.  Saturday and Sunday were all about Vic.  We were with a group of WAO/WTT folks on International courses.

Vic says "it's all about me today!"

My pulls with decel are once again not great, I think it's time to accept that teaching Vic a "close" command is in order.  It certainly can't hurt.  ;-)  Overall, Vic was awesome, such a good boy my Vic and those courses are so much fun!  I'm glad the Masters Challenge classes have gained a foothold here in SoCal, so we see more interesting challenges more regularly.  I'm also glad that I'm taking a year off from big show goals.  There's a level of true dedication needed for International goals and I'm just enjoying training my boys and hanging out with my dogs.  Next year, we'll do Cynosports again, who knows maybe puppy Rich will be able to play there too.

Nancy has always liked Vic, but she REALLY likes Rich.  I've known he's a pretty super puppy, but I wasn't expecting the response he received.  Nancy is really excited for me, which has me more excited.  I'm going to work on putting his natural vulture pose on a command and see if "sit" can mean sit normal.  Still not sure how much that matters to me, but it will be fun to play around with.  Nancy seemed impressed with where we are and what he can do. Gave a lot of credit to Rich, because of his "incredible" puppy factor and did I mention she really liked him?  It always feels good when someone gushes over your puppy.  :-) More shaping behaviors, more running around with him, basically keep going where we're going.  I definitely see her again the beginning of July, but might be up there again sooner.

Some pics from the past week:

SB Shores had even more ticks than the Preserve, I guess it's time to hit the beach...

Rich and Allie on Tuesday

One of the best parts of Power Paws time is walking around the property.

No ticks in agility paradise.  :-)

And the dogs were quite at home in the apartment.  I was worried 3 dogs would be a pain, but they were really easy.

And how do you not take a picture of your incredible puppy next to the USA jump?  I mean you have to, right?
