Most everyone has left by now, there is another couple spending the night like us, but other than that its pretty much cleared out. This is my favorite time here, the show is over and everyone has left and all is quiet. We will stay tonight and leave for the coast tomorrow. The plan is to spend a couple of days letting the dogs run on the beach and then head for home. That is my vacation this year. No regionals, no championships. This is it.
The trial was fun as always, it is one of the summer highlights for me. It was fun seeing Mia and I really enjoyed her courses, as did Swift. He got a handful of Qs this weekend, including the last standard leg he needed for his AD. He is still very much a work in progress, and loses focus, but it is improving. I still have to stop and get him to regroup on the course, but not as much as I used to. He was in starters for just over a year, we'll see how long he spends in Advanced....haha. Since I am so bad at checking scores, I dont honestly know what he Q'd in but in addition to the Saturday standard run, I think he also Q'd in today's standard run, yesterday's snooker and jumpers and today's gamblers. He still has some rough spots, but overall I was pretty pleased with him this weekend.
Quake and I were pretty rusty, but were able to pull off a 3rd place Q in jumpers and a Q in snooker. Our pairs partner had some trouble on the course, so we did not Q, but no biggie. In both standards and in GP, we had minor bobbles, I pulled him off a jump each time by not supporting it enough. Its interesting, he is reading my body motion much more than he used to, so I'm having to adjust to that. Not that I'm complaining. They were pretty minor, and we had no other trouble on the courses at all. In gamblers the gamble was a serpentine, which Quake did as a threadle. I think I should have gotten bonus points for that haha......
It was great to see everyone and spend time relaxing with my friends. And the dogs are really enjoying swimming in the river and running in the big field.
