We went ahead and voted yesterday. I'm sure it will come to no surprise to anyone who's been paying attention that I voted for Mitt Romney, Mia Love, and Orrin Hatch. I'll be glued to the TV Tuesday night.
And I will be very very very glad when it's over.
Also, I will be QUITE PUT OUT if "Last Man Standing" completely turns me off tonight. It is dangerous for a sitcom to address politics. As long as they're fair to both sides, I'll be all right with it, but this is network TV, so, you know, I have no confidence that they actually will--even though this particular show has been remarkably even-handed about things. There was a bit where he was cleaning a Revolutionary War long gun and his wife was all "What if the baby gets ahold of it" and he went into this long spiel about all the steps it would take for the baby to actually fire it. She said "Well, at least put the safety on," and he retorted "The whole thing is a safety!" and it was hilarious. I just looked for it on Youtube, but ABC has privated it, dammit, BUT:
here it is.
In other news, the Cirque du Soleil is in town this weekend with their show "Quidam," and we went to see them. It was awesome, amazing, and beautiful. Now I want to drag the Hubby and the Boy to Vegas so they can see "Mystere." And I may even have the Hubby talked into it. The Boy was hesitant at first, not thrilled that Mom was dragging him to see this thing where he didn't know what to expect, but he was completely captivated by it and is totally on board with seeing another. MWAHAHA. My evil plot to expose him to culture without him knowing it continues apace.
Writing? What is this "writing" of which you speak?
