We have a 1975
GMC motorhome (photo in link is for reference only). There's kind an almost cult following around these things, because they really are neat, and there are
clubs all over the nation, and get-togethers (rallies) where people discuss the technical aspects to the things, interesting modifications, etc.
Well, we went to a rally this weekend, since it was right in our backyard down in Springville, and had a great time. By the time we got in on Saturday, there were about 30 rigs at the park, and it was pretty cool to see that many at once, when normally we see, like, one a year that's not ours, if we're lucky.
The weird thing was having people remark "Oh, it's so good to see young people into these things so they don't die out." Understand that Hubby and I are pushing fifty and don't consider ourselves particularly "young." However, most of the people at this rally were retired, so I guess we're "young" comparitively, but it was still weird.
The local club has dinner at the Golden Corral down the street from our house every month, so we're probably going to make an effort to join them. There's another rally down near Tucson in April of next year that we're going to make an effort to go to depending on when Easter is (because Moab Jeep Safari), and that one should be bigger than this one.
And now I get to recover from getting something like four hours of sleep by watching football. Yay.
