Amazingly enough, it was relatively painless this year. Other than the Great State of Utah, in it's infinite wisdom (are you detecting sarcasm there? You should be) deciding that, rather than attaching the W2 to the form as we've done in years past, now we have to fill out yet another form, with the exact same information on it, ( Read more... )

It was such a relief to have that done. We get a teeny bit back from federal and have to pay in to state, so we have things worked out pretty well.

I was frankly amazed at how painless it was this year. Other than the whole "Here, write this stuff on this form you could just SEND US because your employer GIVES YOU ONE" business, which had me scratching my head and swearing a bit. Because, WHY? Don't they pay people to ferret out that information on the W2? Isn't doing our taxes hard enough without having to fill out yet another form? I feel really sorry for the people who had multiple employers having to do that, because you had a separate space for each one. I guess they wanted it all on one page? FEH.
