Whew! DeepDiscountDVD didn't have anything irresistible to me. If you ever see a sale on Babylon 5, I'd crack. I really shouldn't be spending any money until I get New York paid off (the vacation--not the entire city).

Okay, I have to ask: Does Babylon 5 get any better? Because we watched the first four or five episodes and were pretty underwhelmed. Seemed like a whole bunch of alien nations doing the "We're the UN sitting around TALKING about how naughty those rogue nations are, but we're not actually going to DO much about them. Except talk. We might possibly fire a weapon as a last resort, but first we must try to come to a common understanding with people who want us to die." So...do they ever find any common sense lurking around a basement anywhere?

It has been so long since I saw Babylon 5. I don't remember the beginning at all, but I probably came in later.

I loved Babylon 5 in its later seasons. We missed the last season or two because they switched from a network we had access to over to Turner, which we didn't get. It just about killed us! (Not really, but I get melodramatic.)

I don't want to spoil anything for you, but there were some amazing villains. I found myself switching allegiances and rooting for people I had previously rooted against.

It does get better. I hope you hang in there and continue watching. Of course, tastes do vary, and I'm remembering this from many years ago, but it was unique, and I remember it fondly. I must buy this for my husband so that I can see it again!

Anansi Boys, dear--big difference. And it's thoroughly worth reading. Great book!

Dorothy Parker: "This is not a book to be set aside lightly. It should be hurled with great force."

Um. Oops? I've never actually looked that closely at the title, and living in Utah, my brain automatically read it as "Anasazi." I find that very amusing.

Hurled with great force, indeed. Into a merrily blazing fireplace, in the case of "The Coming of the King."

I feel terrible that the only book here I've heard of is the Bible. ^^; I think I should start with Coming of the King, yes? ^_~

Start with either Gray Dawn or The Amazing Maurice. GD is the story of a dog who is always doing the exact wrong thing at the exact wrong time...but somehow it turns out okay. TAM is a twist on the Pied Piper story, with talking mice and a talking cat.
