Story acceptance!
One of my very favorite stories has been accepted into the To Be Men anthology. Always nice when the editor tells you "You sent me exactly what I wanted."
The story is "Man-Made Hell," my "Big Bad John is a space werewolf on an asteroid mine" story. I had Fun With Names in this one--all the characters except the shoulder angel and the shoulder demon are named after NASCAR people. The angel and the demon (are they real? Johnson doesn't know, so neither does the reader) are named after Scooby Doo characters. Sort of.
BECAUSE THAT'S HOW I ROLL.
There's a lot of gnashing of teeth over this antho in certain quarters (apparently a celebration of masculinity is Not To Be Borne or some such shit, I don't even know), but I for one am sick to death of the fact that Father Knows Best has become Dad Is A Doofus, so I am more than happy to have a story in it.
