Yes, I went back the next day, a little earlier. We saw eighteen species (some not pictured): bufflehead, Canada goose, American coot, great blue heron, belted kingfisher, lesser scaup, greater scaup, red-winged blackbird, magpie, mallard, American goldfinch, red-shafted flicker, red-tailed hawk, ring-necked duck, American Robin, song sparrow, starling, and pied-billed grebe. Plus some kind of gull I can't ID. It scans like a ring-billed, but it was enormous.
I wound up with fifty photographs I felt were worth posting.
Bufflehead.
Canada geese in a flyby.
The coots were hilarious this time. Displaying on the water, and they kept coming out of the water too. Look at the size of their feet!
A great blue heron was hanging out. He was on a roof across the river at first, but then he came to the pond.
A male belted kingfisher was the first bird to greet us.
Lesser scaups, all female.
The obligatory mallard. The light was hitting him so nicely, I had to take that shot.
Mourning dove.
Couple of rodents too--a mouse, who bopped right up to me. Probably had rabies. Or something. And a muskrat in the water.
Pied-billed grebe.
Lots of red-shafted flickers, all female.
The red-tailed hawk came in just as we were leaving and losing the light. These aren't the best pictures, but he was such a beautiful bird.
Ring-necked duck.
Robin.
Greater and lesser scaups.
Song sparrow.
