AAA in Seoul Con Report (Nov 1, First Show)

Nov 08, 2008 20:04

First of all, I am so sorry for posting this extremely late. Gomen ne! I did try to make it as detailed as possible. It’s quite long but I do hope you’ll enjoy reading this :)

Months Before the Concert

The first auction was last Sept 24 so I asked my Korean friends to help me get tickets. They did their best but they could not get a ticket because the internet was so slow and it was sold out in 30 mins. We missed the Oct 10 auctions because we did not know there was an auction that day. The Oct 15 auction was our last hope but it was sold out in 10 mins! I was really losing hope but whether or not I have a ticket, we would still go to Korea because the flight was already booked.

Days Before the Concert

It was less than a week before the concert, and I still did not have a ticket. Then someone posted on one of the communities that she knew a scalper so I emailed her immediately. She said that it was 410 USD! I did not have that much money! But the seats were really good!  And I wanted to see Arashi so badly! so I agreed.

Katie! Thank you again for all your help! I am forever grateful! :)

Pre-Concert

Nov 1 came and I arrived at the venue at around 12:30. I met with Katie near the red statue at the middle of the park. I asked her if we could still buy concert goods then she said that the line was so long! NG!  It seemed that it would stay that way until 2:30 so we gave up. I was not able to make my own uchiwa because I did not have “art” materials with me and I did not know where to buy those things in Korea. The admissions line was already really long so we decided to line up. We were able to get in just 5 minutes before the concert starts. Since Katie and I were seated in different areas, I had to find my way to my seat. When I asked the usher where my seat was, he answered me in Korean then I told him, I don’t understand the Korean language. Luckily, he could speak a little English and I was able to get to my seat. I was seated on 1st floor section 11 seat no. 75. It was the edge seat and on my left was the entrance/exit for those in the floor seats. When I got to my seat, I was at awe with the view. I could see everything! Jackpot! Haha.

*later on, when I was able to use the internet, I found out that 3 hrs before the concert, tickets were still being sold at the arena. Gosh! I lost a lot of money! But I guess those seats they were selling were not so good anymore because who in the right mind would let go of good seats right? Anyway, moving on…

The Concert

The lights dimmed and we immediately stood up! There was literally a sea of pen lights! I so wished I had bought one! They then showed an opening video. They showed a map of Asia then focused on Japan. Then they showed short clips from the Kokuritsu con. After that, they showed the map again with the letter A (inverted V) lifting off from Tokyo, flying towards Taipei. After it landed, short clips from Taipei concert were shown. It also showed people entering the arena. After that, the letter A lifted off and flown to Seoul! *cue screaming fangirls* then the words “ARASHI AROUND ASIA 2008 in SEOUL! November 1, 2008” was shown on the screen. *more screaming*

Then, ARASHI came out! *louder screams* As I remembered, they entered through the moving platform from bottom of the stage. They were wearing bright green costumes, the one they used in the opening for the Kokuritsu con.

They started singing “Love so sweet” and we were all singing along with the “woah woah woah…yeah yeah yeah.” But I was not really singing along because I was in state of shock! People around me might have thought that I’m weird because I wasn’t singing along as much as they were. But I could not believe they were right there in front. Because of this, I could not really remember most of the first part of the concert. The whole time I was thinking “OMG, it’s really them! in flesh!”

After LLS, they sang “Oh! Yeah.” I think they did not sing the whole song. Then they sang “Kitto Daijoubu.” Everyone was screaming “oh oh” after Sho’s raps. Also, everyone was waving along during the extended “Woah” near the end of the song. Even if I did not have a penlight, I was waving my hands along! I had no choice right? For the 1st 3 songs they were singing at the main stage.

At the end of “Kitto Daijoubu,” they were on the moving stage then they formed the circle formation for “Step and Go!” They were dancing this song as they were moving front. The stage was literally bouncing up and down. Abunai! Near the end of the song, they were already safe on the front stage and they said their greetings. Sho was the first to do his greetings then Nino or was it Aiba then Ohno then Jun. Jun did a flying kiss to the camera *screams*

Next was Sho’s solo, “Hip Pop Boogie.” He performed this on the front stage. I do not listen to this song very often so I could not really rap along but his dance was so kakkoi!

Next song was “Jidai.” The opening “Ra” was accompanied with fireworks and the members jumping up to the stage like in the TIME DVD. They wore the shiny black costumes and while they were dancing, their costumes were shimmering. They really looked like stars!

After “Jidai” was “Yes?No?” During the part of the dance where they lined up (the instrumental parts), it seemed like Nino touched Ohno’s butt again :) “Carnival Night Part2” was next. They did not dance the choreo for this song but we were all screaming along with the “C-A-R-N-I-V-A-L Night” part. Half of the song, Nino left to prepare for “Niji”

Next was the performance I’ve been dying to see…Niji! AH! It was so beautiful! He performed it on main stage facing stage left. He was not out of tune at all! And he was not sweating as much this time (no sweat drops on his nose). I was looking at his hands as he was playing the instrumentals part using my binoculars. His hands were so graceful! During the “Lalalala,” we were all singing along while Nino kept smirking. I die! As the song was near to its end, everyone was already ready to scream! I was looking at the center screen and the moment Nino took of His glasses, the center screen became black and they only showed it on the side screens. Because my eyes were focused on the center screen, I was not able to shift eyes immediately. I was like “what?! I missed it?!” Because of this, I pray that they would release the Seoul con on DVD! Even though I was not able to see it, after he sang “hajimeru kimi ni,” I automatically screamed along with the other thousands of fans. It was already a reflex reaction I guess.  After he took off his glasses, he smirks again! I will surely die because of his smirks. He should really stop doing that and think about the health of his fans.

After Nino’s solo was Ohno’s, “Take me Faraway.” There are no words to describe how incredible his performance it. During the part where he danced using the chairs, we were all chanting “SATOSHI SATOSHI SATOSHI” very loudly. I could really feel the SATOSHI LOVE! I hope he felt it too. He is deeply loved by his fans. The part where he sang the high pitched “Itsumademo” while stepping on the chair gave me goosebumps!

After Ohno exited, Jun and Sho was on the main stage. Then they danced the choreo for “La Tormenta.” Sho rapped about Jun while jun was just showing of his cute smile. Jun rapped about Nino. Nino did peace sign and his half smile, as expected. :) He rapped about aiba with his high pitched voice. Aiba rapped about Ohno then Ohno did some fishing moves and catching a fish. He was bouncing up and down like little boy! Everyone was clapping their hand when Ohno said “clap your hands everybody.” Then they danced the remaining of the song at the main stage.

After “La Tormenta” was “Lucky Man.” They danced the first part of the song. Then they were going to the sides to ride on the moving carts. Ohmiya was being a pair of bakas going to the sides doing the same crazy moves that match with the beat of the song.

The next song was “Hadashi no Mirai.” I think the microphone stands were already on the carts. Everyone was following Arashi as they did the hand gestures. I could not believe I was there following along. Then Aiba and Ohno passed by our area. AH!!! no fanservice but I could really see their face so clearly! Aiba was so sweaty and so cute. It felt like they were only a few meters away!

They then sang “Happiness” on the front stage. While they were singing “yeah yeah yeah,” we were doing the hand movements as well. At the end of the song, they did a wave. Those adorable dorks!

After “Happiness” was the MC. AH! Another ohmiya moment! Nino faced Ohno immediately after they did the wave. My binoculars were focused on those two and I could see Nino’s face so clearly! He has the most animated face in the world! I was trying to read Nino’s lips and I think he was complaining about the heat and his scarf. Instead of Nino fixing his own scarf, Ohno fixed it for him. They are so married. Nino can’t even fix his scarf without Ohno. So cute! Sho started by saying “Atsui ne? Chiisai ne?” and we all answered “hai!” It was really hot in the arena but it was really cold outside. The stage was moving back to the main stage. Then they introduced the interpreter. Since my understanding of Japanese is very poor. I could not understand most of the MC. What I clearly remembered was Ohno’s face when they asked “Maou mita?” And everyone said “hai!” All of them had shocked faces but ohno had the most shocked face! He could not believe we watched it! Of course everyone living outside Japan had to watch illegally! I think he then said, “I am Maou!” in Japanese. *loud screams* He asked the interpreter what Maou was in Korean. And she said Mawang. So Ohno said “I am mawang” in Japanese. *more screaming* They also talked about spicy food. I think Aiba was saying he could now eat Korean food but Sho still can’t. Btw, Ohno tension was really high! He kept saying “nice to meet you!” However, the phrase he used should only be used one to greet a person they only met for the 1st time. But since this was already their second time in Korea, he should not be using that line anymore which made the joke so funny. Nino laughed the hardest! I could clearly hear his laugh because of Ohno’s high tension. They also talked about an uchiwa they saw that said “Aiba, when are going to be in a drama?” Arashi actually pointed to the person with that uchiwa! So lucky! After that, they introduced the next song as the Olympic theme song.

Then, they performed “Kaze no Mukou e.” The choreography of this dance was so cute! Nino was dancing all flipsy again! Nino’s solo near the end of the song was quite off but it did not matter. His mistake was really kawaii!

After the song, they introduced ABC and kiss-My-ft.2. Jun was in the middle of ABC and kiss-My-ft.2 fixing his hair like a little boy! I didn’t understand why he did that but he was so cute! Arashi then exited and ABC sings followed by kiss-My-ft.2. During their performances, many people sat down. We we’re quite tired from standing up. :)

After their performances, they invited the audience to watch their concert in Japan. I was sort of shocked that they did this because it was illegal to get tickets if one is not in the fanclub. Anyway…

Then, another video clip was shown. Everyone who was seated stood up immediately! In the video, think Arashi was talking about the AAA2008 as a whole but I did not really understand what they said. gomen ne. They were wearing black shirts and the background was black with the letter A. They were speaking with low serious voices. So hot!

Then, the opening instrumentals for “Re(mark)able” was played. There was fire spewing then they came up through the moving platform from the bottom of the stage. Nino, Jun and Aiba were seated on the couch while Sho and Ohno were standing near the couch. There poses were so hot! and they had the serious expressions on their faces as they were rapping. During the instrumentals part, they lined up and did a little choreography. Then more fireworks and they jumped to the moving stage to dance the rest of the choreography as the stage was moving front. The end pose for “Re(mark)able” was the starting pose for “Truth,” the crab like step. :)

Next was “Truth.” Damn, I never thought I would live to see the day that they would actually perform this live. If watching this performance through the computer was already freaking awesome, it was more awesome seeing it live! WOW! I think they sang it live because I could hear a little off-pitched tones at times (definitely not from Ohno :P ) while they were dancing on the moving stage, fire was also spewing at the main stage. And Nino was smirking a lot! Near the end, there were fireworks as well. For these two songs, I was screaming like crazy! They were so KAKKOII!!! No words could describe how great these performances were. Everyone’s tension went up! I want fancams!

After “Truth” was a “Day in our life.” They took off their red jackets and performed the first half of the song on the front stage. Then they used the moving carts. And the one who was near our section was Nino! He was so near that I can see his face so clearly! That boy is so kawaii! I was screaming his name so loud but he would not look at our area. Still no fanservice. Then he moved to the section next to us. At this point, I was thinking “if only I was able to make an uchiwa or bought an uchiwa.” Then near the end of the song, his moving cart was supposed to be moved to near the main stage so that he could exit but those people on the floor seats were covering his path and he had no choice but to use the exit that was near my side. I saw him asking the staff “koko?” so the gate was opened so he could exit. The lights were already dimmed and as he was exiting, he was still dancing and moving his hands up in the air so the audience would scream. I screamed Nino so loud as well as the people on our side. We screamed loud enough that he looked at our side! I gave him a peace sign and he did the peace sign back! Was not sure if it was for me because I think everyone was giving him the peace sign but a girl could dream right? and I was able to see his eyes so….Ah! I almost fainted after that. Damn! Getting a fanservice from my ichiban was the best feeling in the world!

After “A Day in Our Life” was “Yabai-Yaba-Yabai.” I still could not believe I saw him do the MJ walk live! He sure is fearless! People were also doing the hand choreo for the song. At the end of the song, he gave us the cutest smile ever! *more screaming*

Next was “Ichioku no Hoshi.” I do not really know this song so I could not sing along. They wore their color coded outfits. They were dancing on the main stage but Jun came out near the end of the song.

After “Ichioku no Hoshi” was “Sirius.” I just love this song! For me, this song is one of the best ballads I have heard in my life! Nino sang his part very well. He had a low, husky, sexy voice that I rarely hear. As for Ohno, there are simply no words to describe how perfect his voice was. It was like listening to the CD. Jun did his solo very well too. While they were singing the last line, there were small white and blue lights on the ceiling that looked like stars! The effect was so pretty. It was like seeing the same stars that Arashi was also seeing!

Next was Aiba’s solo, “Hello Goodbye.” He is such a kawaii boy! Everyone was following him as he did the hand movements. He moved from the front stage to the main stage through a moving cart. I really love the harmonica part!

After Aiba’s solo was “theme of Dream A live.” Nino came out wearing another color coded outfit. He introduced the other dancers then the rest of Arashi came out. They introduced each other one by one. I forgot the exact sequence but I do know that Jun was first and he just squatted and gave us his cutest smile again! Next was Nino, who performed a magic trick! I think Ohno was next and moved his eyes like crazy! How did he do that?! I wasn’t sure if Sho was next but he rapped a few lines from Hip Hop Boogie while the other members were bouncing up and down behind him. Then Aiba did a lot of backflips. Sugoii!

After this was “A RA SHI!” I screamed so loud for this song that my throat hurt. This song really raises everyone’s tension. Because this song is the song that started all of it! I was so happy that they did the choreo and that they all touched ohno’s butt! During ohno’s solo near the end of the song, he did not make the audience sing but they did the voicing for the last line of the song! It was so perfect and I got goosebumps again!

Next was “Pikanchi Double” and they sang this while they were on the moving carts. I think it was Jun who passed by our area this time. He is such a cute boy!

After that was “Asu ni Mukatte Hoero” everyone was waving the penlights crazily! Since I did not have a penlight, I just waved my hands crazily! Then, they gathered to the front stage and made their Korean greetings. I wish I understood what they said. During aiba’s greeting, Sho and Nino were copying him and making fun of him. Seems like Aiba could not get the lines right so they kept on laughing.

Jun was the last to do his greetings and after Jun’s greetings, he introduced “One Love.” As they were performing this song, the stage was moving back to the main stage. They were waving “bye bye” to the audience then at the end of the song, they asked “who are we?” (in japanese) Then we all screamed “ARASHI!!!” Then they bowed. Everyone screamed so loud that the word “Arashi” kept resonating in the venue!

After that, they exited and the lights were dimmed. Everyone was chanting “Arashi Arashi Arashi” At first, it was not in unison then there was a short pause then we were all chanting “Arashi” so clear, so loud and in unison! It was amazing!

Then, came out wearing the violet and yellow shirts and said “arigatou!” For the 1st encore, they sang “We can make it!”, “Kansha Kangeki Ame Arashi” and “Sakura Sake.” During “We can make it”, they went to the sides and waived “bye bye” to those seated there. They were so close to them! So lucky!

For “Kansha Kangeki Ame ARASHI”, they sang the Korean version first. We all sung the line “ARASHI” so loud and high pitched that my goosebumps had goosebumps! Everyone’s voice was resonating all over the arena! I could really feel how much ARASHI is loved by everyone present there. When Ohno said “I’m smiling again!”, everyone screamed “I’m smiling again” as well.

After that was “Sakura Sake.” Nino passed by again waiving both his cute hands up to say “bye bye” to us. He did not look near my area but it’s alright. When Nino, Aiba and Jun exited, Sho and Ohno remained on the stage until the final note then the made a “graceful” exit. So cute!

We were all chanting “Arashi” again like we did before then they came back out for the Double Encore. Jun said the last song was the theme song for Nino’s drama then Nino felt embarrassed and patted his head. Kawaii! Nino introduced Beautiful Days. Nino sang his solo line so beautifully! Near the end of the song, he also waved goodbye and everyone on the audience near his side waved their hands. Seems like everyone was paying attention to him. Also, Aiba placed his arms on Jun’s shoulders! After the song, I think they asked the audience again “what’s our name?” (in japanese) and we all answered from the top of our lungs “ARASHI!!!” then they said more thank you’s and bye bye’s and Jun was the last to exit.

Overall, the concert was AMAZING!!! It really was a dream come true! Was it worth it? YES! IT WAS! I would not trade this experience for anything! Now I have to earn back the money I used by not spending for 5 months, but it was so worth it! I just wish that I had made an uchiwa so that I could be easily seen and I wish I had bought a pen light.

To the Filipinos who are reading this post, may I ask, is anyone going to watch the Shanghai concert? I really want a pen light and I was wondering if there is someone who is willing to buy it for me? I promise to pay you back later! :)

I wish I will be able to see ARASHI again! I hope they’ll have another AAA next year! I mean, Jun said they’ll return to Korea for another AAA during the MC so anything is possible right? Must save money for the next AAA! Next time, I’ll make an uchiwa beforehand for sure! Thank you Lord for a wonderful Arashi experience!

Btw, comments are ♥
