A Scare
Yesterday my day had to go to a training exercise at Texas A&M. The firefighters had to practice putting out fires on large boats and ships. So it was my dad's group's turn to go in the ship. The fire was planted in the engine room. The fire was two flights of stairs under the water. My dad said it was so bad that you couldnt even see 1 foot in front of you even with the flashlight. He was so hot and had no water. He started to have really really bad chest pains. So he told his group and they got him out of there. He had no fluids in his body. They took him to the hospital and put in 4 bags of fluids with an IV. None of us knew that had happened. Do you know how when a soldiers dies usual a high ranking officer comes and tells the wife? Well yesterday the highest ranking firefighter (the chief) and some others came to my mom's work to tell her. They said my dad had a heart attack and that they would take my mom to College Station. They would have police escort her there.(U know with the sirens so they could go fast) My mom was going to go but they my dad's captain called her. He was with my dad and said he was feeling better and just to wait for him at home. And that he didnt have a heart attack but a heat stroke. So she stayed. My brother told us what had happened. So went home with my mom and waited for my dad. He seemed fine but really tired. He said that the doctors told him if it wasnt for the pain warning him something was wrong, he would have had a full heart attack or might have collapsed in the smoke. He said that it will take his body a full year to recover from this. Wow that is scary.
I pray all the time that nothing would happen to my dad. And up till now it has been good. But u can only imagine how scary that was. He can already go back to work on Sunday but for a year has to be really careful out in the heat. My mom said I have to cut the grass from now on. Ummm...no. I am gonna hire someone and pay them myself. Cause by the time I get done with the grass, it will have already grown back.
Well I guess i have bored yall enough....I am gonna go now...
