My 21st Birthday Extravaganza!!

May 18, 2006 23:42

I had the best 21st birthday weekend EVER!! I have the coolest friends and the most awesome honey-bunny =) So for those of you that may not know, I turned 21 last Friday and spent the whole weekend having the time of my life. We started the celebrations off Thursday night in College Station at La Bodega, one of my favorite restaurants in town. They serve these Baja-California style tacos that are to die for. Of course there was drama though. I have great friends, but they are the worst people I have ever met about being punctual. I mean seriously, just last night we all made dinner together and it was supposed to start at 7:00...most people arrived after 8:00....it gets really old and frustrating after awhile. So anyway, we had made reservations at La Bodega for 7:00, and we had a group of about 20 people. At 7:15, there were about 6 of us there. The hostess wouldn't seat us until half the party arrived, and they told us if the whole party wasn't there by 7:30, then we'd lose our reservations. Needless to say, I was about to lose my damn mind. I just can't understand people who can never be on time; it's just downright rude! Anyway, by 7:30 we had about 15 people so they went ahead and sat us (after the hostess gave Tucker a lecture....), and the rest of the evening went smoothly. Here's a few pictures =)

Me with my birthday cake...I just noticed that there were 21 strawberries...how awesome is that?!

Oh yes, it was every bit as good as it looks =)

On Friday afternoon, Tucker and I drove to Austin to begin celebrating my actual birthday-Day. First we had lunch at this great place called Trudy's and I had MY FIRST OFFICIAL LEGAL DRINK EVER!!

And it was awesome!

After lunch we checked into our room at the Hilton, which was right off Sixth Street...very cool indeed! We took a quick nap and then woke up to get ready for dinner at Hula Hut with my friends. The restaurant is right on Lake Austin and it has this whole beachy theme going and I totally dig it. There was a 2 hour wait, which was perfect because my friends were still an hour away and we wanted to sit in the bar and enjoy a few drinks together.

Dinner was great...and then we went to Sixth Street. So much fun!! I highly recommend it =) We went to a piano bar first and the piano player/singer dude made me get up on stage and act out the song  that goes "head...shoulders...knees and toes..." you know what I'm talking about. First he pointed out to the whole bar how cool it was that I could touch my toes without bending my knees....and then he changed the world to "head....shoulders....tits and ass" and I was scandalized! But then I did it anyway. And then the whole bar sang "Happy Birthday" to me and he played a Toadies song for me and it was perhaps the coolest moment of the entire night. After that we hit up a few more bars, and the whole night was awesome great fun!

I do not even know what is going on here...but clearly we are drunk....

In a very good mood walking down Sixth Street in Austin

Looking VERY rough around the edges as we wind down the night at Logan's....give me a break, it was 2 am!

We spent the rest of the weekend at my parents' house, which was nice since we got to sort of wind down and relax. All in all, a very good birthday indeed!
