*sending warm vibes to all my friends dealing with the blizzard* Guess it'd be mean to tell y'all that it's currently 59oF and sunny with a brilliantly blue sky, wouldn't it? :P

Will and I finished the Christmas shopping today, although we're going to have to go back to Sam's either tonight or tomorrow to get wrapping paper and batteries. One of ( Read more... )

That coffee cake is referred to in my family as "Aunt Janet's Coffee Cake" because my great-aunt Janet used to make it. Our recipe calls for cake flour, but I think the rest of the ingredients are the same and IT IS AWESOME!!!!!!!!

We have always said that it is better the day after as well once it has completely cooled.

We have always had waffles for brunch at my grandmother's house (where I now live) for brunch on Christmas morning. We could open our presents from our parents first thing and then we would go to grandma's but we always had to eat before we opened presents here. It was always so hard to wait for the grown ups to finish thier meals!

I love that coffee cake. Will isn't so much of a coffee cake eater, so I usually make an egg casserole or sausage balls for our family and do the coffee cake for snacks at Sunday School one week, just so I get to eat it at least once in the year.

But this year, Will's sister has asked me to make it for the whole family for breakfast one day while we're all there (we're doing Christmas with his siblings their families and his parents at her house the 27th-30th). I *heart* her for asking. :)

Yes! I remember how horrible it was to wait for my dad to finish the dishes and get his coffee.

Also, your Max is adorable. Holy cow. Look at that cuteness!

I would hate it if it were 95 degrees in December. Actually, I would hate it if it were 95 degrees in July. Winter is the best.

We weren't at ninety-five, we were at fifty-nine. That's pretty average for us around this time of year--lows in the upper 30s to lower forties, highs in the fifties and sixties. Days like today, with the sun shining like it was, are my favorite.

Ninety-five in July isn't bad at all around here, but we've got air conditioning everywhere and usually spend the hottest hours either in the AC somewhere or in the pool. :)

One day I will learn to read correctly. Today is not that day. :p

59 actually sounds lovely. It's about 40 here and there's 10 inches of snow on the ground. Kinda nice, actually. I'm just hoping I'll make it up to Boston today w/o incident. Pray for me.
