Ever have one of those days
Ever have one of those days when you want to say "I told you so" to your boss someone so badly that you think you just might go completely insane if 5:00 doesn't roll around really, really quickly?
That was my day today.
See, my boss is allergic to Sorghum, which just happens to be the plant we work on. It's bad enough that he got our safety officer to get him a mask with a HEPA filter to make sure he doesn't breathe any pollen. But...Sorghum also has this lovely waxy coating on its mature leaves that leaves white crap all over whatever touches it and floats a bit in the air. The waxy coating makes me itch like a mad woman, but I'm fine if I wash it off. My boss, on the other hand...
He has a full-blown allergic reaction (one that requires meds) if he's exposed to the stuff for too long.
Like, when he, say, decides that he needs to kill the plants with kindness take care of the plants for a while.
This happens every month or so. He decides he really needs to do the watering (for who knows what reason). He lasts about 3 days, maybe four. During that time, he over-fertilizes them and over-waters them so they look worse than they did when he started taking care of them, and he has the allergic reaction from hell. And then he goes, "Oh. Maybe I should let Julie take care of them, because they do better with her benign neglect, and I don't get so sick I have to miss work because I can't breathe."
And then I have to spend the day trying not to roll my eyes where he can see me (and trying not to make some snarky "I told you so" comment.

Also, I meant to do this yesterday, but I took some Benadryl (for an non-Sorghum-related allergic reaction) and I'm completely non-functioning if I take that stuff.
There's a new Harry/Ginny drabble/ficlet community: hpgw_drabbles and I think it's going to be tons of fun. It's a place to post your shorter H/G drabbles and ficlets--anything under 1000 words. There are going to be challenges and prompts, too. It's not meant to take the place of hpgw100, but to give a place where you can post drabbles or shorter fics that are written for other places (like, say, my prompt request thingys or any other random shorter stories).
