Happy Easter and Good News

Happy Easter everyone.  I've decided to spend the holiday relaxing.  Which means quilting.  My son and Dad took off to do their thing around noon today, so I spent the afternoon quilting.  I got most of the top for the sudoku quilt my son gave me for my birthday done.  It just needs the borders added tomorrow.   I hope to do that and have another 2 quilts that need borders that I  hope to get to tomorrow.

And the good news - one of my older (50+) cousins got THE call on Monday - he's been on a transplant list for a couple of years now and on dialysis 4 days a week where he had to go to hospital and spend serveral hours getting the dialysis.  He hasn't been doing great - lots of pain and discomfort associated with the dialysis.  Anyways, they called on Monday while he was in receiving dialysis - there was a kidney in London, so he called his brother who grabbed some clothes for himself, stopped and got stuff for the cousin and picked him up at the hospital and took him to London (about a 6 hour drive).  The surgery went well and the new kidney is functioning.  He'll be at the transplant center for a few weeks yet while they make certain he recovers from the surgery and they deal with all the medication issues that need to be dealt with.

My gratitude goes out to the person whose kidney has given my cousin a new lease on life.  He's a really  nice guy and I am glad for him - until the health problems he was a very active person - fought forest fires, trapped and was always outdoors.  Being ill has been very difficult for him..  If this kidney was received as a result of someone dying and being a donor, then I can only express my best wishes and condolences to the family of that person and again gratitude.
