I want to go very much! I have been forewarned that tomorrow will be the pinnacle of my swelling and pain, so I hope you don't mind having a limpy trophy wife who is possibly drunk on painkillers :(

I haven't made them for a long while but I think I still have the pattern! The cruel irony of it all is that I haven't been knitting for a while, only crochet. And crochet needles can't impale! Why didn't I have a basket full of them?

Oh dear.
An inch!? that sounds so painful, I'm sorry you had to go through something so awful :(
Hope you're not in too much pain, take it easy, and try not to walk around too much until you get better.
Fannypack nouveau's can be made sitting down. Remember, take care.

It was seriously so gross. It went more "up" than "in" so it pretty much looked like when you see people getting liposuction on TLC. So icky! I also had to be pretty forceful to get it out, and yowch!

The rest of my sewing will definitely be done sitting down. Eeep!

Oh, it's quite disgusting, I assure you! I didn't really look at it much because I knew I would be too grossed out, but the feeling of pulling the needle out... ew.

I am going to eat all kinds of good immune system things and try to heal quickly. Thank you for the kind wishes and sympathies, dear!

jesus! i once impaled myself palm first with a sewing needle that i had brilliantly left sitting upright on the carpet (i used my carpet as a very temporary pin cushion until i learned better). that was shocking enough. i can't even imagine what it must feel like to get impaled by a KNITTING NEEDLE. ouch!! but otherwise you're going to have an awesome story to tell for the rest of your life :D but take care in the meantime xoox

I've pulled the sewing needle trick many times, but always in my feet. It's pretty yucky, but at least it's a reasonably sized prick hole whereas my needle was like, 4mm. Gross!

Once in the sixth grade a boy in my class named Gary accidentally sewed his mother's day wreath TO HIS STOMACH SKIN without even noticing? Oh Gary!

And yes, an embarrasing story to share with the grandkids about why to not run with scissors / leave craft things on the floor.
