As many of you know, the Canadian government will soon vote on whether to legalize Same-Sex Marriage nationwide. Most of us had the feeling that it would pass with a comfortable margin. Saskatchewan is so funny: NDP provincially all the way, and RIDICULOUSLY CONSERVATIVE federally.

I wrote an email to my MP a couple months ago but I think I'll follow that up with a phone call. Grrrr.

I was so surprised! I was so upset going through Alberta, and then finally got to Quebec where I was all, "GOD BLESS YOU FOR MAKING THE COUNTRY SANE!", and then Saskatchewan, in the surprise move of the day, goes and breaks my little heart.

According to the equal marriage website, phone calls are much more effective than emails.

In political terms, it is fair to say that a meeting between a constituent and an MP would be worth 50 personalized letters or 100 telephone calls and a phone call would be worth 1,000 emails.

Goodness, It's definitely and most certainly okay!

I want lots of people who normally shy away from politics to be encouraged to write / call / visit their MP! Sometimes the threat of not beingr re-elected is the only thing that can get through to them!
