This gay-90s customization/version:
Of
this 1870s pattern:
Makes me really, really, really, really, REALLY want to make a fem!Jim dress.
I'd stick with the 1870s cut to the jacket and skirt, but totally do the vest and jacket lapel exactly the same as the first and add a white undershirt to the whole thing. Overall effect, something a little like this...? (With jacket sleeves and in the WWW colors/fabrics.)
The problem is, I'd really have to find fabrics that were *damn* close to one of Jim's ensembles to make the concept work... I could swing the plain fabrics without a lot of fuss, but the vests pose a problem...
This is my favorite:
But I'd look better in the blue:
And I'm partial to the "peacock" vest (which would go with either the blue or green):
I like Artie's outfits/coloring better, but being a concept piece, I'd have to go with the most iconic outfits - Pretty much down to Jim's blue or green.
I seriously doubt anything will come of this, but you know how I get... Stay tuned. ;-)
And if you've seen fabric around that would duplicate *any* of Jim's vests *closely*, point me in the right direction.
