Comments about episode order in season four (and a primer)

If you are following along at home, I have a suggestion about the episode order of season four. As it stands, the airdate order at episodes.com jives with the order on the DVD sets. It would stand to reason that this would be the best way to watch them. However, there were several significant complications behind-the-scenes this season and they ( Read more... )

I am so, so, so grateful for this. Seriously. I'm printing this out and this is the way we'll watch them. It's so messed up that the DVDs are out of order. Thanks a million for straightening this out!

PS. When you're all done, I'd love to know what makes your Top Ten Episodes list (or Top Jim Eps List, Top Artie Eps List, whatever).

I'll have to refine my list as I screen cap and rewatch here and there, but the rough cut follows - these are eps I put a star next to, which means I really liked the entire episode a lot on first viewing and might be favorites:

S2

Green Terror
Man Eating House
Lord of Limbo
Gypsy Peril
Tartar
Vicious Valentine
Deadly Bubble
Colonels Ghost
Wolf

S3

Firebrand
Jack O'Diamonds
Falcon
Legion of Death
Running Death
Death Masks

S4

Sedgewick Curse
Gruesome Games
Avaricious Actuary
Migeuelito's Revenge

I still have four Artie eps to watch.

Hmm... Clearly my system is flawed as Turncoat is not starred - That's the one with the tattoo... I think I wasn't totally in love with the episode as a whole, but that scene with Artie - OMG!

Yes, that was absolutely brilliant!

No first season eps? No "Murderous Spring"?

I was greedy - I hated to choose between them (although I've loaded the other two separately). So much Artie goodness! You rule like a mighty ruling thing. Thank you. :)

And I didn't know that trick about substituting icons - so clever! Thank you!

You're welcome - It's such an unusual situation, who knew? You can't really blame the DVD manufacturers this time - They were going off the actual airdates. It's the fact that they originally aired this way that blows my mind... It makes NO SENSE! I guess they already had everything written and scheduled, then they rewrote everything but didn't have the flexibility to rearrange the eps into storyarc order. :::headdesk:::

LOL! You went with the rotating gif! You greedy thing. ;-) If you change your mind, do you know the trick about swapping out the icon in a way that replaces it on all posts? If you don't, it will replace the old icon with your default. You upload the new icon with the *exact* old icon name, and it should replace everywhere. You can change the comments, but not the name.
