Global ProsWatch: Dead Reckoning
I *have* been watching along on ProsWatch, but we are getting a few episodes that fall boringly into, "I love this episode but don't have anything to say about it out loud." But I feel guilty when I don't post so.... {{{desperately scrambles for something to say}}}
This one is punctuated with four weird off-screen-baggage moments:
Bodie: What about that guy, Michael? The girl's boyfriend?
Doyle: You busy?
And Lew try's to shoot him a dirty look but can't quite squash a "You asshat" kind of smile...
Then, that moment when Ray brings in Anna and Bodie tells him that Cowley wants to see him... Bodie and Doyle exchange a look that always freaks me the hell out... WTF is going on between them behind the scenes???
It's that second one that troubles me... Regardless of *why* that played out like it did, it always comes to me when I'm playing around with some of the darker plot lines that float around in fanfic.
Then there's the "softie" conversation. It's so... Venomous.
Fourth is, of course, is the, "Are you going with him - or with me" thing... WTF???
I guess I'm wary of admitting I *love* how freakishly vicious these scenes are between the Lads - They don't necessarily fit in with their characters from the larger show as a whole. I suspect there is more going on between the actors than the characters here. Still, I kind of like it. It certainly gives us something to play with in fic.
On the other side of the coin...
It's really hard not to get all wibbly watching Bodie go all menacing with Anna when he's got her at his apartment. :))) Although, even that is laid on so thick that it kind of crosses the line - It seems like a darker viciousness we don't usually see in Bodie.
And *no one* has any trouble with topless-Doyle being poked and proded... :)))
