I *used* to have a life...
After futzing around with this for two freaking days, I've reached the distant border of my artistic abilities... I managed to create a really good John Drake for The Sims 1, but it all falls apart in the game because I don't know how to create meshes. I just can't find the right shaped head to put the skin on and the end result simply doesn't work. Augh! And forget The Prisoner - That skin isn't working out at all. McGoohan just doesn't translate to miniature.
Well, I'm pretty pleased with the final skin:
And I put it on the closest mesh I could manage to find, and it looked fairly convincing in SimShow:
But when I get it in the game, the head is all the wrong shape/size and it makes his face change into somebody else and it's just not him:
Sigh. I think I'll go back to creating walls.
P.S. The Sims Showcase seems to have ground to a halt... Anyone know of an active site out there these days that does the same thing - for Sims 1? (Meaning, a site that posts finds from around the internet daily/weekly, etc. so I don't have to check 50 sites every day...?)
