Whoa.
I just got back from a meeting with the Blockbuster crew, and the store manager asked me and Nancy to go to this Active Seller workshop, which is for people who are constantly walking around the store helping customers, telling them about specials.
He said we could go, but asked me to stay... I thought I was in trouble or something.
He said Lisa, our district manager, said people in the upper levels are talking about me. They're saying numbers of my store have drastically risen largely in part because of my active selling. People actually know my name in upper level management, haha.
As a result of this, they want me to go to one, or all four of these meetings to speak to these people. One to two hundred stores are going to be represented at each of these meetings, and they want me to be the key-note speaker of the workshops! They want me to open the session, speak for 10 minutes about why I like to do it, what works for me, ideas I have, and anything else I can think of. They want me to lead a 20 minute question-and-answer, and they said I don't have to go to the workshops, I can either lead an individual workshop (for like 20 people or so) or I can roam between workshops and join in and teach where I feel necessary.
Naturally, the press and attention whore that I am, I told him to call Lisa and tell her I'm up for at least the first Jacksonville meeting. There's two Jax meetings and two Orlando ones I'd be asked to do.
I'm... whoa. I totally don't know what to think. I had no idea I was that good. Now I know why Blockbuster bitched so much when I said I was going to do part time for McDonald's. To be good enough to be talked about in other stores and in upper level management... that's something.
So... yeah. Whoo. lol... Crazy. I'm gonna go hop in the shower now and get some shopping done. I get paid today, thank God. This will be the first paycheck in several months that I'll be able to spend money on myself with... I want clothes... NEW SANDALS. And boots... I want brown or tan boots... haha. =D
I'm off to have a fun filled day of shopping, and then hopefully beachiness with Fani. Later all. =D
