It pouring rain outside, but Ali didn't care. She only managed to get a parking space two blocks from Izzy's apartment, so she had to run the rest of the way in the rain. Clearly she wasn't thinking straight because she hadn't even thought to grab a coat or a umbrella. But then, forgetting a 'rain coat' is what got her into this mess in the first place, so basically she was a complete and utter imbecile.
She chose to take the stairs as the elevator seemed to be taking a week to get back down to the floor. She shook some of the excessive water from her hair and shoved it back behind her ears. By the time she reached Izzy's apartment, she looked like a drowned rat who'd been shoved in a washing machine and was now Very Pissed Off.
She knocked loudly and repeatedly on Izzy's door, trying not to start shivering or verbalising the expletives runnings around in her head.
