im so tired. I think it was from working market yesterday. it is physically draining. Josh came to market yesterday. We had lunch. Fun. Annie Wong worked half the day. Also saw Fuschia and her bf. Fuschia tells everyone that I taught her how to cook the sweet 100 tomatoes the best way possible.
I think I will work next weekend on July 4th with Annie. I might go to the concert fest I have tickets for, but it depends how I feel after work. I also have to meet my physics tutor on Sunday. My superego is really taking over. I want to do all of these fun things/get invited to a bunch of cool things, but my superego tells me to study for the MCAT. I'm serious more than ever about prepping for this MCAT. I feel much better prepared than I was in the past, especially after taking biochem, mcb, and physics. That's a lot more knowledge than I had last year. I'm also actually putting quite a bit of effort into my reading comprehension and analysis skills. I hear most med schools weight that section the heaviest. I'm a little uncertain about the psychology and sociology portion...but it seems like it is mostly vocab and I think if I read a bunch of psychology research journal papers, I'll be fine on this section. I don't think I'm going to do great on this section, but I'll do ok. I'll just read a whole bunch of pub med articles and look at how they present and interpret their data.
Ughhhhh.
Oh tonight Josh and I went to eat at Belli Osteria. We went to kiraku first, but there was a long wait. We threw out a few ideas and then decided that instead of getting delicious enchiladas at Comal, we should try Belli Osteria. It was a good choice. Belli Osteria is the Italian restaurant right next to Comal. The service was really excellent. The waiter was a young european man with a very cool european watch. He was probably Italian. Josh and I ordered a an arugula salad with fennel and ricotta insulata, a sweet potato house made ravioli with pine nuts and browned butter sauce, and seared arctic char with spiced couscous, arugula & lemon confit. All was very well done. THe table service was also nice. After the salad, the waiter cleared the table and gave us new dishes and utensils. Very nice. Josh mentioned that this hasn't happened at any of the other resturants we;ve been going to. Although Chapeau DID fold our napkins every single time we got up to leave the table to go to the bathroom or whatever...which was just weird.
Earlier in the day I made a protein bar brownie sort of thing. In a food processor, I creamed two bananas, some ground flax seed, some date paste, blueberries, chia seeds, mocha vega protein powder, baking soda, baking powder, cocoa powder, and some walnuts. It made a weird looking batter. I spread the mixture on a baking sheet and baked it for 10 minutes. I'm really happy with how it came out. The texture is good. It's mostly-all natural definitely vegan and gluten free and dairy free and it's not super dense and hard to swallow like most energy bars. So this is something I will continue to make. i gave a bit to josh and he said it was pretty tasty.
