I am guessing you got a hotel that provides "breakfast"? If not you can find any easy neighborhood bar and you can stand to have a cafe au lait and a croissant. Be sexy like the French.
If you want to keep your budget hip -eat crepes. There are stalls all over Paris. You can get a ham and cheese crepe or a cheese crepe and a bottle of orangina. Delish I say.
Save your money for dinner. It is worth it. Most good places have prix fixe dinner. Three courses for not too shabby of a deal.
Do slightly splurge on one meal there. I have a deep affection for Bistro de Breteuil it is near Invalides and the Eiffel Tower. It is also where my husband proposed. For 38 Euros you get a three course meal (including a bottle of wine, coffee and an apertif to start -usually kir royale, my favorite)
3, pl de Breteuil Paris, France 75007 You can reserve on line here if you don't feel comfortable enough up for a reservation. You can usually get a reservation that night.
Here is their menu (in English)
The rumpsteak is what I ate there. SO GOOD. You will want to have sex with it. And Marry it. Oh what a meal that was.
I can give you a few cheaper suggestions as well.

Mmmmmm, that menu looks divine! I have been planning to splurge one night for dinner. But really, that's not a bad price at all, considering you get alcohol.

I was thinking I would do the crepe thing for lunch a lot, or find a place where I can get a yummy sandwich on a mini-baguette. And yeah, for breakfast I am avoiding the hotel. I could have pre-paid for the breakfast there, but it was rather pricey. I's much rather go out on my own and get coffee and a croissant.

The trickiest part for me is going to be finding reasonable prices in the area I am staying in. But I can't complain too much because I'm not too far from the Place Madeleine, and I am totally going to the food stores there.
