YAAAAAAAAAAY! The Red Sox won their home opener today, and the first pitch was thrown out by non other than Bill Buckner who got a rousing standing O from the Fenway crowd. It's enough to bring tears to your eyes. And believe you me, I got very misty watching it (thanks to the cool people at NESN).
I'm such a sap, I got all teary watching the guys get their rings. Oh, and big ups to the people who picked the music. Tek, Dougie, and Kevin Cash to theme from Superman. the starting pitchers to Indiana Jones, the infield to James Bond, our outfield to Star Wars, and our bullpen to Pirates of the Caribbean, although Paps came out to "Shipping Up To Boston" all by his lonesome, and of course Papi came out to "Dirty Water". The only music I did NOT immediately recognize was the music for the coaching staff. I KNOW it was from a Western. Was that The Magnificent Seven by any chance? If anyone on my f-list knows, PLEASE tell me.
In other news, I have jury duty tomorrow! I have never gone before, and this should be interesting. I am coming prepared with a couple of books and my iPod so I don't get bored waiting around. Mostly I am excited that tomorrow I get to sleep in because I don't have to be to the courthouse until 8:30 AM. Normally, I am at work by 6:30 AM, and I work in CT, so you can imagine when I wake up. So tomorrow is almost like a vacation day.
red sox,
