Well I quit the ridiculous hostess gig. Horrible hours, crappy pay, sexist owner and not to mention all the violence that goes down on Hollywood Blvd at 3 in the morning. I started nannying for a very cool family nearby. Both parents are musicians and their baby is very cute and fun to hang out with. They also have a dog and four cats so I basically have a new posse. With that said, I'm still pretty lonely and trying to get over any anxiety I have with making new friends. I'm used to working food jobs or something similar where you are forced to get to know people and work with them then magically you bond because you hate that stupid job and want to gripe about it over drinks when work is over. This was not the case at the hookah lounge, probably because when I actually try to make friends I seem like a weirdo. Or everyone who worked there was too jaded and cool.
Planning on heading home for pride weekend at the end of next month. Then in August I'll return to the playa for a couple weeks and be with the second fam. For now I will continue to draw and bike around and maybe muster up the balls to visit the bike kitchen.
