No, definitely don't sign off on the injuries for any kind of settlement now. Definitely allow time to pass and see if anything crops up.
I was in a car accident 5/02 and sustained a closed head injury. I did wait on settling for a while and got less than I should have but more than the insurance company wanted to offer me, thanks to the lawyer I hired. It became obvious down the road from when everything was settled that the head injury had affected me more than anyone had realized and I'm wishing now I could file suit for a larger settlement because of long-term effects. Not that the money's going to fix a single iota of damage that was done but it would sure help with the bills I have to pay and the fact I have trouble getting a job because the issues I had before were exasterbated by the head injury so now a job's even more 'fun'. :p It's divine intervention that the friend who was driving and I survived the crash and he walked away with, basically, scratches and bruises so he got off especially light. The damage could've been MUCH worse than it was and I'm thankful I got off as lightly as I did. Could've been worse. Just...*sigh* I can't wait to ditch this body and get to Heaven and get a perfect body.
