Video clicks on to Claudia holding her furby.

So we all that these [She wiggles her furby back and forth. It's eyes open and look blankly out at the viewer.] are amazingly annoying.

If only one wants to get ride of theirs, I'll totally take it off your hands.

Not a chance. I need the components in these to make repairs to my suit.

[How badly does she need the repairs? Extremely badly. But this is pathetic. She's a Quarian, true, but these parts are more than mere antiques.]

[Here have all of Claudia's attention. Components and repairs you say?!? More tech to play with? Maybe one more for the tech geek group. Awesome! Here have some light sarcasm.]

Suit? Ya know we usually we do suit repairs with a needle and tread.

[She drops the sarcasm, because she really wants to know.]

Why are you patching yours up with a toy?

Because I don't have many other options. It isn't some kind of costume, it's a highly sophisticated clean-suit. It operates in nul gravity, has all kinds of additions...

...I've never been in a situation this primitive before, at least not so long that this kind of wear and tear would be a problem.

[Walking Quarian wikipedia time? Why yes, thank you for asking.]

A needle and thread is fine for cloth, but anti-ballistic radiation shielding? If I put so much as a pinhole in that, I could die just from contaminants, let alone the possibility that it'll explode in combat.

What kind of additions?

[Because she wants to play with whatever it is. Or at least bask in it's techie glory.]

Anti-ballistic radiation shield? Jinkies. What were you doing before you came here?

[Claudia thinks someone might be a little over dramatic.]

Wait, die? I know they're weren't big on hygiene back in the day, but come on it's not that bad here.

I'm part of Shepard's crew. I guess it's not really accurate to say we're fighting a war, but we are fighting, and with any luck it'll turn into a war and not just us against the Reapers.

[She can be wry because if Tali were honest about how she feels, she'd get the shakes. This, you see, is how denial works.]

Beyond that, it isn't as if you can expect to walk around Omega without someone trying to put a hole in your suit.

[And, ad for her other question]

It isn't that. Well, it is, I mean, the particulate form of the shielding substrate does cause cancer, but that's...not really a problem, for me. You see, I'm Quarian. We don't tend to have much an immune system, so if I were to experience a breach in my suit that I couldn't find, and got sick, I'd probably be dead before something like cancer became an issue.

[Ok, she understood like half of that. This is her first experience with future type people, and she is mondo confused.]

...Reapers?

[Claudia is a little gobsmacked by that last part.]

Seriously? Look I haven't run into Quarian tech before, but if you need a hand. Or some furby parts.

[She's never going to have tech if she keeps giving it away. Stupid helpful Claudia.]

Ah...Thank you, but I'm not sure you're qualified. Even another quarian might have trouble with this, after how much customization I've put into it. We wear our suits our entire lives- they become very personal technology.

I'll let you know, about the parts. I normally wouldn't ask, but I can't afford to get sick here. Shepard needs to have her squad at full strength, in case something else happens.

[She'll have plenty if she makes friends with Tali. Good Quarians might often take without asking, but they also never take more than they genuinely need- and Tali is a very good Quarian.]

...The Reapers...

Well, that's a little more complicated. It would probably be easier to discuss it in person.

Gotcha, no worries, I don't like strangers messing with my tech either. And my life doesn't depend on it.

[Except for when it does, but it's totally a different situation.

Well, now that Tali made it should all interesting, and she really should get out of her room. Claudia will be heading her way! Well once she knows where it is.]

Works for me. Where are you?

My quarters are at room 2093. We can talk there.

Be right there.

Beam me up Scotty.

[Claudia pretty sure Tali won't get that, but she's clearly entertained by her comment.

Before long Claudia is knocking on Tali's door.

OOC:Tali's comments weren't video right?]

[[ OOC: Nope, not Video! :3]]

[Tali opens the door immediately. It's a pretty typical room, unadorned, stone walls and all that, but what few personal touches there are are pretty incongruous. There's a thoroughly dissected Furby laid out on a sheet over the little desk everyone is given, and a variety of futuristic-looking tools arrayed around it. Something oddly black and metallic looking is a bit off to the side with exposed circuitboards on the side-

Tali steps back, politely, coincidentally blocking the view]

Please, come in. I am Tali'Zorah vas Normandy.

[It has been tradition to introduce oneself by full name to people you've just met. Even Quarians sometimes have trouble telling each other apart in those suits.]

[She looks Tali up and down, clearly impressed by the suit. She wasn't sure exactly what she'd been expecting but that wasn't it.]

Woooahoho That is totally awesome!

[Manners, Claudia you have them. Use them!]

Right sorry, That was probably offensive or something.

And Claudia Donovan, fellow seized patsy.

[She holds out her hand to shake.]
