lot's of stuff is going on all of a sudden.
today: warped tour
tomorrow: work, then toasters show.
saturday: skarmy show in NY.
sunday: cousin's birthday party, then qcb concert.
then there are various other dates where there are fun times happening like skarmy shows and whatnot. i wish the entire summer had been like this. oh well.
next monday hot water music is playing at lupo's, and i really really really want to go. BUT i not only have work the following morning, i am supposed to go to qcb rehearsal on monday nights. normally i wouldn't care too much about missing a rehearsal (hehe, like this week when i fell asleep outside after work and woke up at like 8 and rehearsal is 7-9) but this is rehearsal for the last concert. the dixie concert. the concert that i like to play tenor for because the bassoon parts are boring or nonexistant. so, if i dont go to rehearsal i can probably kiss playing tenor in the concert on sunday goodbye. it's a tough decision. i'll have to think about it. maybe ms. bryant won't let me play tenor anyway this year, because when there usually aren't too many people or like no tenors at all, there are lots of people and like 2 or 3 tenors that come to concerts regularly. so it's kind of hard to just show up and be like "ok, im playing tenor. you guys that have been playing all year are out. tough luck. go play bassoon if you want to." i don't know...i'll figure it out before the 11th anyway.
i'm really looking forward to playing shows in NY where maybe my friends from school will be able to go. rotterdam is this weekend, and then 13th/14th is albany/syracuse. zack said we could stay over at his frat house instead of sleeping in cars. go sig ep! when i mentioned it to joey skarmy, he said something about those kids probably being the kinds of kids who used to beat him up in high school. good thing they aren't all there in the summer. and good thing these aren't your average frat kids, they're rpi frat kids. that should say something (read: they were probably beat up in high school too.) i'm glad i will have a car at school this year so i can stay in the "skarmy family" and continue playing shows and record the new songs in the fall. i'm glad i joined the band.
well, it's almost 1am. i have to wake up in like 6 hours, but joe isn't here yet. he was stuck in traffic and was in hartford around 11. i hope he's almost here.
