Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows

Oh, you'll get no plot spoilers from me. I won't even discuss it. I had to go on a total media blackout so no one would spoil anything for me. Happened when the last book came out. I don't want to know the slightest hint. Shut the &*@$ up! Not the most important thing in the world, but you mind if I enjoy it?
It's cool that England has adult versions. No, not with sex. They have covers which adults can feel more dignified reading on the train.
I was never a Potter head though. As a dyslexic fella, reading is a chore. I listened to one of the books, courtesy of The Recording for the Blind and Dyslexic. I read the last two. I reckon that, whatever difficulty one has reading, practice will make him better. If there are those who can finish a book in an afternoon, read a page at a glance, then if I read a lot, maybe I can read at the speed most people do. I love it when something is engaging enough that I don't even feel myself reading any more, just turning the pages like sheet music.
Though never a Potter head, I have seen the tribute to platform 9 3/4 at Kings Cross Station.
I must say, the books do have a slightly different slant since coming to England. The landscapes, scenery and attitudes seem to resonate slightly more here. There is a school nearby for rich, snotty kids. It has amazing Gothic architecture. Joanne and I call it Hogwarts, though we see the kids playing cricket instead of Quiddich.
I dig that people say that the books are for kids. I've never seen a book series have such a following. I know far more adults who were into them. October stopped reading them after the fourth one. Adults on the trains flip the pages like no other books . I love reading Bill Bryson books and Steven Fry. I see other people reading them (usually a different title) and we give a smile and a nod, occasionally a chat about the book. Harry Potter readers don't look up. It's like, I don't want to know if you read it! Bless 'em. I'm right there with them. I won't revel a thing. If you've already read it, sincerely, shut the #%%^ up!
