Interestingly enough, I found that "seeing underwater" used to correct my eyesight when I was little and only weakly shortsighted. Sadly the chemicals made my eyes hurt, but it was cool to Just See, even for a little while.

I wonder why goggles improve vision underwater so much?

Guess I should be able to work it out myself :S
