I understand quite a few hides were chapped by Obama winning the presidential election, but seriously America...
The fact that I've been signing into MySpace and seeing that these "bumper stickers" are the latest and greatest popular items to post on your profile makes me *headdesk repeatedly. I realize these silly things represent a small portion of the Conservative population, but come on respectable Republicans and Independents! I know you're out there... Just not on MySpace, I suppose. :-/
Ergh.
I think the worse banner I saw was on an acquaintance's profile. It read, "If you vote for a candidate because of the color of his skin you're a racist."
I'm sorry to say I would've still voted for Obama if he was white, Jewish or had one leg. I am tired of seeing all the playing the race card, we're screwed, Americans are stupid for voting for Obama flak.
I have an idea: If you're unhappy with the election results, why don't you channel your energy into something useful the next time around and lobby for your politician of choice and get out there and give people REASONS to vote for your candidate!
Sigh. I guess I am just tired of seeing so much negativity. Bush had his 8 year run, now give someone else a turn. No, things won't get better overnight. You can't dig America out of a hole that has been in the process of deepening itself for almost a decade. Improving America is akin to weight loss... It took you YEARS to put on those pounds, and it most certainly will take an extended period of time to get them back off. Slow and steady, yes?
Heck, I'm not saying Obama is a messiah and will surely save America from itself. He very well may drop the ball and make it worse. However, I believe I picked the best candidate for the job given my choices. I am a moderate until I hear all my candidates out, then I choose who I think is best for the job from there. I would have been inclined to have voted for Ron Paul if I had the chance, and you can hardly label him a democrat.
So don't try to make me feel bad by antagonizing me and paint me with a broad brush as a "stupid liberal". America is headed for some rough times, and neither candidate will be a band-aid fix.
But seriously... Knock it off with the ignorant SOCIALIST/OSAMA/TERRORIST remarks. You're not allowed to use those words if you don't actually know their definition or the history behind them.
