Back from the Abbey

Had a great retreat this weekend at St. Bernard Abbey in Cullman. Bishop Foley's teaching on Benedict XVI's encyclical Spe Salvi and other topics was awesome. Got to spend some quality time with some great friends and have time to discuss the Faith. Got to meet some interesting folks. Got to chant Compline with the other men and the monks. Had a wonderful reconciliation service and, of course, participated in the celebration of the Mass. Great way to spend a couple of days.

All of the above plus the break in routine with no TV, Internet, radio or newspapers did me good in ways that I'm sure I'm not even aware of.

I'm planning for Brandi and I to go down for a weekend at some point...maybe when I become an Oblate.
